From what everyone is telling me, that was a special edition of the 924 from the factory. It is a one piece that fits over the bumper and it's called the CGT front end. If you look at the second page of that thread:

just before the blue one, there is a picture of a red one at a race track somewhere and I think that front end looks pretty sharp. Apparently, you can still buy this piece from Porsche or a place called Sunset which I haven't checked out yet. Pretty decent alternative to the normal front end of a NA 944...although it seems to be pretty expensive. I am going to do that or switch mine to a turbo front end. I just like those two looks better but I don't want my daughter to have a real turbo. Until she gets a few more years of driving experience, I don't want her having a car with too much power....she has a really heavy foot but doesn't have the driving experience to support that yet.
