It should good daily driver provided you do have backup car. Not sure if youy want to put all of your faith into a vehicle nearing 20 years old. Meaning can you afford being late to a meeting or missing work one day if it dosent start. Im not saying its not reliable, i am saying its 20 years old.
Personally if you wanted a little more of a 'livable' car every day car that is more than capable as a track car or people hauler, consider the 4dr E36. I think they were only available in two model years. Its a newer car and is a little more refined. This is subjective though.
