biobased has advantages and disadvantages - we have some ongoing projects and have had to drop a few due to the cost. We invented the absolute greatest oil for aircooled 2cycle engines - 1:100 mix ratio and reduces emissions by 75%, increases piston life by 3X and makes the engines easier to start and no visable signs of oil blowby. The thing is, not many folks are will to pony up 7X more for their weedwackers oil gas mix. It was biobased.

We are ready to launch a fire resistant hydraulic oil that is also biodegradable. Great for mining and construction equipment. Made from Canola oil. Actually has better resistance to oxidation and hold its viscosity better than mineral based. Our non-flammable formula has much better performance than the water-glycol based stuff. Downside is the cost. Its still about 2X more.
