I've been lurking on the site for a few months which helped me pick out the 1989 944S2 coupe that I just bought. It's my first 944 and my first Porsche for that matter. I had the car checked out by a local Porsche shop. It checked out clean except for brakes and tires which I knew about. The previous owner did a couple of DE's with Hawk Blacks and they shredded the rotors.
Anyway, that brings me to my first question: brakes. I'm trying to find some slotted rotors for this car but am not having much luck. I can find cross-drilled but I've had trouble with those getting hairline cracks. I like the Power Slot rotors that I have on my VW's but they don't make a fitment for the S2's. Any help???
As far as pads go - I was thinking either Hawk HPS for street and Hawk Blues for track. Or maybe Hawk HP+ for both scenarios. Any comments on the BHP pads that Pelican sells?
My first DE in the car will be at VIR on 11/18 and 11/19 with the Audi Club. Are any other forum members going to be there? I'll be the guy trying to figure rear-wheel drive handling!!
