OK, problem solved...Me being paranoid about rattling brake pads, dangling calipers and floating discs...
It ends up being the left rear shock that is blown. I had the car on the hoist today and while pulling it up and down, I can feel a big KNOCK inside the shock. Removing the lower mounting bolt made it go away. It's not leaking though.
It's just a coincidence that it happened after doing my brakes.
For the record...I put brand new Bilstein HD's on the car last year. Guess it's warranty time!!!
Edit: Tightened the top bolt and the clunk seems gone!!! Fingers crossed...
