Search around and you'll find that the last guy(and only one i've heard of) to replicate the body style of the GT1 spent close to $60K in body modification and paintwork, and that was just a 996 exterior conversion not a true replica of the car.... There was an article on the 996 that was converted in an issue of Euro Car...

I own/operate a car/bike customization shop and I can tell you that's about how much it would cost me to do that conversion to a car like this. Awhile back I started a 996 Turbo body conversion to my old Dodge Avenger and even that wasn't cheap.
