I bought the silver car from an insurance auction, after it suffered an engine fire. Perfect candidate for an engine swap. Clean, rust-free body, and it was just a "T", not worth as much as an "S", or even an "E".
I didn't ruin an early 911 as much as I rescued it from the crusher.
I'd keep your Targa stock, too. Great find. You're in for a lot of fun.
