84 944 tranny change... please advise
Well, here is the question:
A friend of mine is in the process of stripping down an 84 944 to be a track car.... however it currently has no transmission. It was originally set up for an automatic, but he has a freshly rebuilt manual tranny from a 951 that he would like me to install, great!
So here comes the fun part...
Other than installing a master cyl, pedal, plumbing, etc...
Has anyone modified the tunnel to acomodate a stick instead of the auto gear shift? Should I tell him to f-it and part this one out to buy a car originally designed to be a manual??
Any words of advise are welcome...
