Everyone has given excellent advice, and the task is much simpler than it may appear. Just a couple of pointers--be sure to find a SWITCHED hot wire to connect the red lead to. There are several in the engine compartment that you can splice into without going to the CD unit. I use a 12v. trouble light to find a switched connection and spliced into that. The ground (black) is easy. Oh yeah, be sure to set the engine to TDC with the distributor pointing to cylinder 1 wire before removing it, and mark the position of the dizzy to give a ball park timing position. (Ask me how I know). Really, it is not a difficult job.
