Very pretty rifle. Pat. I have always been a sucker for color case hardening, fine blueing, and quality wood. Way more pinache than black plastic and stainless steel.
9422's were not affected by the New Haven closure because they have been made by Miroku (spelling?) in Japan for years. The center-fire 94's and Model 70 bolt guns are gone, at least for now. Look for a comeback soon, probably made offshore. That may be a tough sell; riflemen tend to be more traditional as far as "be American, buy American" than most consumer groups. Building a pair of American icons like the M94 and M70 somewhere else is going to upset a lot of people.
