I pulled mine from above, but I had to drop the front suspension frame to allow the engine to move forward some as it came up. Its not bad just 8 bolts counting sway bar. The hardest part for me was the steering wheel shaft. Be sure to put it back on as you go, and don't do like me and forget it and I had to drop the axle back down again to get it to hook up.

I am not sure if the same is required for all engine types

mine was the 8v non turbo
