1984 Carrera for sale

I think I need to sell my 911. Yes, I will miss it. I simply need something more practical at this time, with 2 little kids and a heavy-handed wife....I owe her one, so I think my car has got to go.

here's the story -- I bought this car in August 2005 from a doctor here in Seattle. 1984 guards red carrera with sunroof. I'm the 4th owner, and the car had a bad valve in the #5 cylinder at the time. John Walker pulled the motor, gave it new steel studs and a full top-end rebuild and rebuilt the first and second gears in the tranny 'while he was in there'. The car is a beast -- it is solid as a tank and it absolutely rips. I've put barely 4000 miles on it since the rebuild, and everything is airtight. There was some sort of *odometer issue* on the car-fax, but the previous owner and I sorted this all out and we believe the car has about 140,000 miles on it.

more detail: the car has had a re-spray (there's a chip on the hood near the vent up high that shows a bit of its history). Also, there's a tiny dent behind the left rear wheel, down low in the 'valance' there by the muffler -- you have to look for it. The A-C system is intact but not 'charged' - I think about 400 bucks would get this taken care of. Car has a fabulous stereo (Kenwood 10 disc changer and ADS speakers). Windows work, though the drivers window rattles a tad when its half-way down. Seats are worn, but I have the 'wet okole' neoprene covers from Hawaii that are pretty slick and do the job. Tires are virtually new Kumho's and are great. Weltmeister bar ties the top of the shocks together. 930 tie rods. Original black Fuchs wheels -- the car sits just right. Stock muffler is fine. Sunroof works like a champ and seals water-tite. blower motors all work well on the ventilation / heat system.

I'd like to sell this car locally with as little hassle as possible -- I've got about $17k into the car and I'll take a good offer. This is a JW-built motor, people, and it is extremely strong and runs clean, passing emissions in a snap. I need to make sure I live a long and healthy life -- i've had my fun with this thing and I need to work on the self-preservation thing for a while. If you get interested and need photos, I'll get them to you.

thanks,
