The connection between a 944 and a tractor

A technician informed me that he once use sleeves designed for a Cummins engine (used in a tractor) to rebuild the block of a 944. They can apparently be honed or bored out to accommodate the pistons. I am not sure how the rings, that are designed for an Alusil block, would react.

I obtained an overhaul gasket kit for my aircon compressor at a local agricultural supply shop. They informed me that the same compressor is used in John Deere agricultural tractors.
