i tried the same thing on mine, and got the same results.
after a while it ended up looking terrible. Real black carpets is where it's at, dying isnt worth it. Professional dying doesnt even hold the color after a while. My boss had his carpets dyed red inside a moterhome and they all turned pink after a couple months.
