There's a fuel Strainer inside tank at feed point. It can get clogged. You can drain tank then remove this with a open ended wrench. Looks like a part of a wiffle ball. Take it out and carefully clean and reinstall.
I would think the DME Relay would cut out completely or warm start issues, if that was it, but??
Check your Fuel Press at the Fuel rail. Or you could look to see if your spark plugs are White. Signs you're running lean.
That's where I'd start.
Charged 1/2 hr to look at water pump doesn't seem outta line for diagnostic. I would of done that at belt change anyway.
