Lightbulb motor mount question

I am going to be replacing the motor mounts within the next week or so and was just wondering if there is anything I should be aware of before doing the job? I am also doing this at school, and I will be using a lift, so should I lift the engine from the top using a fender hoist or should I lift it from the bottom using a jack? Also what needs to be taken out to be able to lift the engine? I read 3 different instructions and one says you need to unbolt this and that, but the other says you dont have to unbolt that part, you have to unbolt something else... to tell you the truth I'm pretty confused. If anyone else has simpler instructions or tips I'd be interested!
Thanks
Jon
