I might try and figure out something for front as far as crash protection. Peter mentioned that I might be able to leave a stripped down rear bumper in place for max crash protection.

Thanks for the reply. I'll post pics after the install. The car is in need of a paint job so the finish product will be after I get my 3 or 4 car garage. (one car stall leads to dents and scratches)
Don't be scared to post in-progress pics. I did!

I'm currently not running any heat shield for the muffler. The bumper did get hot when it was hot outside (been pretty cold here recently) but not unbearably hot. Really the worst time was after turning the car off and the bumper would heat soak from the muffler.

I haven't burnt any paint or anything so I'm not sure I'm going to install a heat barrier.

I do suggest mounting the bumpers without paint and running paintless getto-style for a few weeks. The sun (and your muffler) will cook aka cure the bumpers. You'll be able to smell the glass curing the first few times you drive the car.

Just my $0.02. My SC is by no means a concours car...but...it is a bastard SC with Ruf bumpers!

Are you going to do the install yourself?
