100% agreed.

And FWIW the notion that the recent Republican administration is any more or less frugal than their Democratic counterparts is a myth. This administration has spent like a drunk college girl out with her friends and daddy's credit card. It's HARDLY been a model for fiscal conservatism.

I agree it's a bit of a shame that a bunch of "bleeding heart liberals" had to be voted into office in order to stop the bull-headed obstinance and gluttonous power orgy that has been spewed out of Washington as of late. I honestly hope that the Democratic Congress is able to now effectively contain the power of a dictatorial demagogue (Bush) and that Bush is able to ignore or veto any attempts to increase spending (I don't know honestly how they could) or taxes by Congress.

A standoff/balanced/"do-nothing" government is a LOT better than the one we've been stuck with for the last few years.

The issues of national direction, policy, etc. and the complete lack of coherent vision from this administration trumps all else. If it means I have to tighten my belt for a few years, so be it. Small price to pay in the grand scheme of things so that maybe our children's generation might POSSIBLY have a future.
