There is actually a whole thread here on which is better..top or bottom. It seemed like it was split evenly. I personally took mine out the top with zero issues. I did however remove the intake and alternator as someone suggested it would be easier. I am not sure if I had to or not. I just didn't want my car that high up in the air with me crawling around under it....that was the only reason I did the top.
