I'm trying to point out that most people are measurably stupid.
The U.S. government's
National Assessment of Adult Literacy shows that only about 15% of U.S. adults can show proficiency in the prose and document literacy categories and only 13% can show proficiency in the quantitative literacy category. Recent four year college grads did better with about 40% being able to show proficiency in prose and document literacy and 34% being able to show proficiency in quantitative literacy.
