I just finished replacing my stock 21mm and 14mm bars with used 27mm front and 18mm rear bars (Ebay) on my '83. I also installed braces that I designed and fabricated (similar to KLA) to triangulate the front mounting brackets. The changes made a significant improvement in the car. Steering is now very neutral - understeer is gone - and cornering is precise and flat, but the ride quality is still excellent. The car also seems much more stable at higher speeds. I highly recommend the upgrade.
