We agree. However, telling me won't solve the problem. Holding your elected officials responsible is better (but for the last decade or so questionalble at best). No matter which party is in the majority, self policing obviously does not work. Eliminate the add-ons like the infamous Alaskan bridge to nowhere (yeah, that will never happen) and find a way to reduce the "peer pressure" that "If you don't vote for my pork, I won't vote for yours" attitude.

Government has a fatal flaw. You mention budgeting your family expenses. Governmtn feels differently...It ain't their money; it is someone elses. How you get rid of that attitude I do not know.

Are you aware that the federal government is the only one that does not have to balance its budget?
