The reason that happens is this....you are running a lean fuel mixture. By stepping on the accelerator, you open the valve that lets air into the motor. Because you just allowed more air into a motor that already has too much air, there isn't enough fuel to keep it running. Two possibilities exist...either there isn't enough fuel going into the cylinders for the amount of air (check this by checking the fuel pressure on the fuel rail) or there is/are air (vacuum) leaks that allows more air into the cylinders than there should be causing the mixture to be too lean. If the fuel pressure appears ok, then check the voltage on the fuel injectors to make sure it's ok. If those check ok, then move on to looking for vacuum leaks.
