well i was at court this morning. ok news i guess.
the run down:
he was looking at a 2nd degree felony, juvy time, and $11,600 in restitution.
to persuade him and make things easier for everyone, i spoke with the prosecutor. we came upon an agreement that letting him go with a class A misdemeanor, no juvy time, and still paying the $11k restitution would be fair. he made the offer to him and his parents - and they rejected, saying they would only pay for the paint, and not only that, they said they want to get their own paint quote, and they would pay me the average of the two quotes. (my quote was $2500, i bet they will go to maaco for their $200 embassador paint job)
you can only imagine how angered i was with such a ridiculous offer.
now we await trial.
next court date: DEC 13
i am being told his case doesnt have much merit. in the end i sure hope he gets whats coming to him and i get the money i deserve. just thought i would share the news with you folks.
on top of all that, him and his dad - while in court, had this smile/smirk on their faces like this whole thing was a big joke.
