Just so you can rest your pretty head, it ISN'T a crime to carry cash in the US. Don't worry, evil Bush hasn't made that a law yet.

It IS, however, a crime to violate customs regulations by bringing more than $10,000 in cash into the US from a foreign country WITHOUT DECLARING IT.

Which is what this guy did.

And before you work yourself into a lather about how this must be an evil plot by George Bush or the Republicans to violate the liberties of people coming into this country, be aware that this is a common customs rule in countries throughout the world. Including fascist countries like Mexico and Canada.
