17-24 pounds is a pretty big range. It almost makes me want to get a tire dismounted to re-check.
No one should make the argument that the Lindseys are superior to modern lightweight race wheels like Fikses. However good a 16x6 center is, it's still an old piece of alloy that's gone through an unknown number of stress cycles. And the manufacturing methods of today (both in forging and casting) are way ahead of an old forged wheel welded together with a modern barrel.
But if you like the look of Fuchs on a 911, the Lindseys are the way to go, IMO.
