Ron,
Stay away from the TV/Computer monitors. They try to do both jobs and are not good as a computer monitor. I have a 21", and two 19" LCD monitors and love the setup. If you want you can try two of them and go from there. Aaron mentioned a setup that will do this without an additional video card.
Doing multi-media, Jim is correct and you cannot have too much RAM. A fast hard drive helps as well.
