IF you went to an MSD coil....I like the hi-vibration resistant jobbie, then you can open the gap. I run NGK bp6 or 7es gapped to .045-.050.
An aquaintance measured voltage at the plugs using this set up. 18K during the multi-spark phase, then 36K to over 7k rpms. You need a coil that will supply this voltage till hell freezes over. The 6al will take care of its end of the bargain.
