I have a Comcast cable box, hooked up to both my tv and a tivo. It is digital but not HD. I can help you I think.
I have the cable coming out of the wall going into the cable box. I then have the coax cable going to the TV and a video componet cable going from the cable box to the tivo. The tivo then hooks up to another one of the tv componet inputs. That way I can watch using the Tivo and not using the Tivo.
