I ride 350 days/year.
No death wish.
The learning curve can be steep. You learn a lot the first 1000 miles. By 5k you form some theories on survival.
I get cranky after a few day of not riding.
re MC crash statistics, disregard the inebriated, the non-licensed, the non-helmeted, and the first ride on a borrowed bike and it's not quite so gloomy a picture.
