I've sat in most of the stands, and most have some good qualities. Hairpin is great, there is some passing and lots of crowd energy. Gold stands opposite the pits are fun to watch pit action, but no race action on the front straight. Just 200 mph blurs. We made it to Stand 12 about 6 years ago, and haven't moved since. Race start is worth the price of admission. It's a tough corner, a passing opportunity, and pit out is right there as well. The extra bonus is if you hustle, you can easily get to the podium.

Here's what we passed last year on the way to the podium ceremony:

We will stay the course *** We’re just going to stay the course. [12/15/03]
And my message today to those in Iraq is: We’ll stay the course. [4/13/04]
And that’s why we’re going to stay the course in Iraq. [4/16/04]
And so we’ve got tough action in Iraq. But we will stay the course. [4/5/04]

Well, hey, listen, we’ve never been “stay the course” [10/21/06]
