I'll admit I listen to a significant amount of Country music. However, my favorites tend to be older (generally less Pop) and Red Dirt country such as the following:
Pat Greene - "Southbound-35", "Three Days", the "Live at Billy Bobs" album and quite a bit more. Despite playing in Oklahoma several times each year I haven't been able to see a live show yet.
Cross Canadian Ragweed's hometown is about 8 miles away so I think it is required listening.
Let's not leave out the recently departed Chris LeDoux if we're talking cowboy country.
Also, back to an earlier post about Patsy Cline's "Crazy" ... it was written by Willie Nelson.
