No pics, but a funny tale. Some years back, a local deejay asked me to bring my Porsche to a local radio station sponsored "cruise in". Not wanting to be the only Porsche there, I phoned friend Mick Michelsen, who showed with his 914. I also phoned a Salem (Oregon) couple who are dear friends, asked them to bring their '58 speedster...a gorgeous black car they have owned for decades. Instead, they showed in their red '56 Gullwing...all original, not restored. Lee bought the gullwing back in '58, the speedster in '60. Guess you could say he has an eye for the future.
The cruise-in hot rod set went bonkers over the gullwing! Gave it peoples choice, first in class. Oh, it p.o.ed a few of them, but that was their problem. Greatest laugh was when a guy in coveralls came up to Lee, clutching a car values magazine. "This must be a replica, right? Either that or you don't know how much it's worth. It says right here that one of these is worth...."
