I basically agree with nota...$10k is on the high side for an average-mileage 1988 944 turbo that has a basically stock engine. It is not out of the question, however, if it is an exceptionally nice car, absolutely everything works (AC, clock, roof, other electrics), and the owner has recent receipts for /all/ of the standard maintainence items, so it won't need anything but gas and oil for a year or two...it should have new belts, waterpump, maybe seals, clutch, and at that mileage, maybe rod bearings and a turbo rebuild (though I think conventional wisdom says the turbo is good for 150k miles...?). For that price, it needs to be something special.
