While it only takes one internet posting of a guy who buys a Perfect S for 7K to throw everyone in a tizzy, buy a QUALITY car. One that has the records, checks out well, is physically in good shape (paint, interior, dash, seats etc). If YOU don't think 9K is high, go for it. Enjoy it. As the cars get older it will only get harder to find a good car at a good price.
