Right now, they have three kinds of cars in NASCAR:
Short track cars, long track cars, and road course cars. (In other words, Jeff Gordon drives a different car at Bristol, Michigan, and Sears Point respectively.)
There are playing with specifying a single car for all three types of tracks.
