If you can find a decent H-D tech forum let me know. I've been on H-D's since long before Al invented the Internet, and looking for a decent forum ever since he did. I just can't find one that has the technical content of this one. Most of their forums are pretty much like this off-topic, but with more attitude (if that's possible).

I'm convinced that anyone that actually works on their own H-D is too "old school" to even figure out the Internet (except for me, that is...). The newer riders don't wrench and are attracted to newer H-D's because they don't have to. So, all they talk about is how helmet laws suck, how many tits they saw at which rally, that helmet laws suck, or who makes the best chrome, or helmet laws suck... you get the idea.

By the way, great bike. I've got a 2000 Road King myself; mostly stock, with some comfort upgrades for touring. Almost 75,000 miles already, with virtually no trouble whatsoever.

Probably the most important thing to determine on your bike for now is the date of manufacture. The 2000 model year bikes made in or before October 1999 are all suspect with regards to the infamous rear cam bearings. H-D sent out a service bulletin to dealers, and extended the engine warrenty to 50,000 miles with no time limit to owners of these bikes. If yours is an early 2000, and has not had the upgrade installed, do it soon. Other than that, there should be nothing at all that needs attention other than normal maintanence items. Have fun with that thing!
