My 3.6 has headers going into a 964 Cat with custom pipes welded on to it no mufflers at all. I can take pics if you want to see.
The result is very loud at WOT and deep with a purposefull sound when cruising.
At highwayspeeds there is quite a bit of cabin noise and droning expecially at 75 MPH at 90 is actually quiet.
