That was my take as well. The Ice Truck Killer is clearly playing head games with Dexter and seems to know more about Dexter than Dexter does. It isn't yet clear if he wants to help or hurt Dexter. But it seems he is trying to "educate" Dexter about his past. Again, not sure that is a
good thing to do for a psycho killer.
I find the Ice Truck Killer's relationship with Dexter's sister to be the creepiest/most interesting sub plot. In the first episode, Dexter's internal monologue said, "If I had feelings for anyone, they'd be for Deb." But the implication is that he actually has feelings for no-one. But we'll see if that holds true when she is danger. No matter how cold and cruel he thinks he is, the surest way to wound a man's heart is to threaten the women in his life. If Dexter has any capacity for feelings at all, we'll see it in the next episode.
