My great, great grandparents were indentured servents. What do I get for that, butkus! Todd, I gotta disagree with you, calling me a cracker is offensive to me, and if calling someone else a nigger is offensive to them, whose to say he has more right to be outraged than I do. I detest bestowing a certain "pass" on one group of people over another based on anything, you should too. And what's with the Indians being able to own casinos, but no one else? Sure they got screwed and stuck on a reservation, but in todays world you know what that means? I don't pay my property taxes, I get my land taken away, I don't pay my income taxes, I get thrown in jail, they don't pay any taxes on income they earn (including gambling) on the reservation. Yeah, I know the states negotiate a "fee" with them on their revenues from gambling. Nothing is stopping an Indian living on a reservation from getting on the bus and going to the city and looking for work, just like I did when I moved to CA on my own dime 27 years ago with no guarantee of success and no safety net.

Didn't answer the question. No, I'm not a racist, I just believe people should be judged/treated on their merits. For example, UCLA is bemoaning the fact that "only" about 98 blacks got into its freshman class this year out of some 4,000. Guess what, my 4.0 honors student daughter was also got National Honor Society and got her Girl Scout Gold Award ( the equivalent of the Boy Scout Eagle) couldn't get in. Exactly how much do we have to lower the standards, I believe that is called the soft racism of low expectations.
