Budget? What "budget" would that be? Not to challenge your comment but looking at these cars and the staggering costs of upgrades like motors, suspension, track gear and more it seems more a weight/style preference than a budget choice. It is true however that you can find a middie (project or starter car) at basic affordable prices rather than starting on those upgrades on a newer car (at $30K or more
Personally I could own a much newer Porsche (and have) considering the 10's of thousands I've put into my little '75 over the years. What I have now is a tight, fresh motor and total car set-up that I know every little grut and squeak on. What would I have for $35-40K? A newer car, sure, higher insurance rates, absolutely, and a car that needs even more extensive upgrades, repairs and up-keep to match the performance and road-worthyness of my 32 year old sweetheart. "Budget?" I think I klnow what you mean though. It's all relative to what you start with I guess...
