Supercharging is the only thing you can do that will make any real performance increase.
You can put on a catback exhaust, a K&N cold air intake, and you will make more noise but no real power increase IMO.
I have a tundra with a v8.
My best friend bought a 2004 tacoma. We compared acceleration a couple of times, then he did the bolt-on routine.
More comparisons, if there was a difference it was too small to see. Non scientific but more accurate than marketting claims.
His truck was more noisy and obnoxious though.
