What I've seen of class-action suits--the stuff I not infrequently get in the mail because I own stock in a certain company or am on record as having bought a certain appliance or hving dealt with a certain airline--it turns out that if I can collect a carton-ful of receipts and records including the weather report for a day six years ago, photographs of every woman I've ever slept with, and my original birth certificate, I will sometime within the next eighteen months be sent a check for $1.75, whcih is my share of the proceeds after the class-action lawyers and expenses are paid.
This is how, in the real world, class-action suits are resolved.
