I have watched this tread (and others like it) for a while. I am thinking I ought just continue to shut up, but eh, here goes. I think the best thing is to make people aware of MM's failings. There is not enough money in any single case to hire a lawyer and damages in contract are limited to what you expended anyway; these are not torts where punitives are available. And given what I hear of customers' problems, they are pretty disparate so I doubt you could certify a class easily for class action (even if there were enough plaintiffs available, which is unclear).

Unfortunately, these facts are what permits MM to stay afloat. There is no class available, few people are going to bother with individual suit and even if someone does bother, MM ends up simply refunding what was spent on that particular motor.

It's a pretty good business model, actually.
