Did RPDE a few years ago. Got it as a gift. It was a fun drive.
Take it for what it is. It's not a school, it is an amusement ride. If you do it, push the car hard, the pace car will control the speed and keep you safe. I was surprised how the car lacked road feel. Get your wife a ride along. The instructors run the passengers right up to the wall at speed. My wife really had fun.
If you want a really good time, do a real driving school. I did the Derek Daly 3 day formula school in vegas back in 1998. It was great. Great learning experience and loads of fun.
OT. Sly Stallone was there at the same time learning to drive for that crappy movie he was making. He rented one of the tracks for himself and did hundreds of laps over a few weeks. The instructors said he drove like he was trying to fight apollo creed. He crashed one of the formula cars and nearly totaled it. He really sucked. It was funny in the mornings, his limo would pull up to the nearly deserted building and his body guard would jump out and clear the area like secret service. Then he would signal Sly and they would rush to a private classroom. He refused to even look at the rest of us. Pretty funny.
