Peckinpah's "Wild Bunch" is good for a western, but if you want brain-warping psychological Peckinpah, you have to watch "Straw Dogs" or "The Cross of Iron."
"The Getaway" is also outstanding. It was said of that movie that with Peckinpah's direction, when a character was hit by a shotgun blast by Steve McQueen, the audience could feel it.
