Need help negotiating for a Subaru Legacy
Hi Guys,
I'm looking at buying a 2006 Legacy 2.5i Wagon. Any feedback on the vehicle is also welcome.
The Subaru Dealer bought it from the Subaru corporate fleet. It only has 6,000 miles on it.
All of the figures here are in Canadian dollars, but it shouldn't really matter.
I'm not very good at car negotiating, so I'd love some help.
The 2006 MSRP for the wagon was about $30,500.
Their starting offer is $25,500.
So I'm saving about $6,800 when you factor in the Freight and PDI that is on top.
So how low should I offer?
According to Kelley Blue Book, here are the various CDN equivalent values:
Trade in -$20,000
Private Party - $22,800
Dealer Sale - $25,300
I am trading in a 1997 Mazda Protege worth about $3,000
As a note, they just got the car yesterday, so there is likely some value in the fact that they don't have to keep it in inventory. Also, they said that there was a scratch on the fender that had to be touched up.
I'm thinking of offering $22,500 and settling for no more than $24,000.
Thanks in advance
