I knew an old man years ago that had a fascinating life. He was a Marine, a logger, a cowboy. He was covered with scars and walked with a pronounced limp. Even in his old age he was tough as nails. He spent his old age living in a cabin in the Oregon mountains. One night we were sitting around a fire drinking beer in front of his cabin. My cousin was a logger and decided to show the old man his new tattoo. My cousin asked him if he had any ink. The old man said, "No. If you live hard enough, life will mark you up just right."
