Damn the timing
Yes, it should support the two speeds mixed together. Normally the rule for that is that the slower memory should be in the first slot because that'll set the speed and step the other memory down. It should work with two different sized chips and different speeds, but obviously you're having some sort of problem. Good luck. I cringe at the thought of taking a PC to the techs at anyplace like Best Buy, Comp USA, etc....
