I had a Disco - and it was the worst POS I ever owned. Spent more time at the dealer than in my garage.
There was a time you absolutely couldn't sell these cars because of their bad reputation.
So I'm curious: why restore it?

My sister owned the Rover for the past 8 years--so I know the history of the vehicle--dealer maintained, and it has a factory replacement motor with only 50K on it. When she wrecked it last thanksgiving the ins. company totalled it and the buy-back was only 1,000.00--no frame nor mechanical damage was done. It needed a bumper, grill, the brush gurad was shot, the drivers fender was dented, and the hood was kinked.
Wrenching is a hobby of mine, and I know how capable the discos are for wheeling, so I bought it. I did all of the preventive maintainence which I listed, did the body work on the fender and hood myself--had a buddy of mine spray the paint, and now I have a great DD and off-roader to replace my 79 wagoneer for under 3,000.
